Built 1916 – Bainbridge Island
In 1917, Fischer Brothers incorporated as a wholesale grocery located on Western Ave in Seattle. He and his brother George ran the business. Frederick was Vice President and after George passed away in 1924, Frederick took over as President. In 1920 Fred was an Executive Committee member of the Alaska Bureau of the Seattle Chamber of Commerce along with James Haight (another Loveless home-owner). Frederick married Lucille Chapin in 1918 who was a prominent social and charitable leader. He and Lucille were avid travelers. In 1938 while visiting Auckland New Zealand, Frederick passed away and Lucile sold the house shortly thereafter.
The residence sits on one of the most recognizable locations on Wing Point on Bainbridge Island. This home and waterfront property is visible from the ferry as you enter Eagle Harbor ferry dock. The house was originally clad in cedar shingles in a neoclassic design. Original quarter sawn-oak paneling and detailing remain throughout today. Built-in benches and paneled walls are also present. The Arts and Crafts fireplace has original tiles. A sunporch that was originally open was enclosed at some point. The exterior has multiple pitched rooflines, dormers and a dormered eating area off the kitchen. The original staircase handrails and built-in bookcases are still intact. A porch overlooking the harbor allows close up views of ferries as they enter and leave the harbor.
